Blue and White, Mommy and Daughter Tea Party Part 2

Welcome to Tablescaping Escapades.  Today, I have recreated the Blue and White tablescape that I styled for the sweet little girls that attended our Mommy and Daughter Tea Party at the end of May.  The tablescape for the Mom's is in my first post HERE. This cute tea set with a couple of Stash Coconut Mango Oolong Teabags greeted the little darlings.

Come with me as I build the tablescape.  The foundation was this beautiful ecru table runner with blue and white teapots.  I bought it years ago; I think from Heritage Lace.

Here's a close-up of the three teapots that repeat twice in the runner.  I wish I had real teapots like these.  Aren't they gorgeous?

Oh, and this is my centerpiece, a teapot with faux dried roses.  My very first tablescaping book; it sparked my table styling passion and inspired this centerpiece.  Have you guessed it yet?  Well, none other than "Tabletops" by Barbara Milo Ohrbach.

Did you notice the adorable little angels at the base of the teapot?  Since my daughters  and the sweet little girls that attended the tea party are like precious angels, I thought this centerpiece was well suited.  If you have little girls, I know you agree, LOL.  Mine are little busy bodies.  My MIL says, "They are busier than a cat on a hot tin roof."

I bought this teapot from a craft store.

On another Tablescaping Escapade, I spotted these two little angels at a craft walk in the mall.  I inquired if the crafter made the teapot that I purchased at a different craft store - no.  However, the crafter agreed to affix them to salt and pepper shakers for me.  One angel said to the other, A penny for your thoughts?

Tea was served in this apple teapot.  A butterfly landed on its handle.

Here is the whole set (from Bombay Company Outlet).  Love those little butterfly tea cups.  There were six little darling little girls and only four butterfly tea cups, so we did not use these tea cups.

On a recent excursion to HomeGoods, I swiped this blue and white pineapple dish.

Whimsical, isn't it?

Ta da!  You should have heard the little girls chattering. "Darrr-ling" this and "darrr-ling" that.  How sweet.

My daughter, Sweet Pea made the place card holders.  Dum dum lollipop stuck in a marshmallow.  This idea came from "Fancy Nancy Tea Parties" by Jane O'Connor.

Do you recognize the plates, cup and saucer.  Of course, Claremont by Gibson.  Oooh la la, the blue and white dessert plates are from my blue and white collection from Bombay Company.

Blue San Remo flatware from Horchow.

Alternating light blue and dark blue glasses from Tuesday Morning.

My miniature teapot collection.

We dined on chicken tarragon salad, hosted by the whimsical pineapple dish.

This blue and white, tile serving tray from Bombay Company displayed tea sandwiches.  The girls dined on ants on a log.  My niece said, "I don't like celery, but I like ants on a log."  LOLParmesan yeast rolls, apple cinnamon scones; English scones; banana bread with cream cheese and banana slices/raisins; and strawberry lemonade punch made with Simply Lemondade, fresh strawberries, lemon sorbet and Sierra Mist.

I saved some tea for you.

We have come full circle.  The candles are lit in my tea set from Partylite.

It's time to snuff out the candles.

I hope you enjoyed my blue and white tablescape.  Now hop on over to Susan at Between Naps on the Porch and check out the other beautiful tablescapes for Tablescape Thursday.

Mommy and Daughter Tea Party

In May to celebrate Mother's Day, I hosted a Mommy and Daughter Tea Party. My darling daughters, Sweet Pea and Sugar Puddin', were such gracious co-hostesses. Today, I am thrilled to participate with Tablescape Thursday and share my first post with tablescape I styled for the Moms. The above pic was the invitation. Beneath the lid of the beautiful miniature teapot place card holder reveals the housing for a tealight.

When our guests arrived, this tea/coffee service greeted them. We did not serve coffee, but displaying the entire set was aesthetically pleasing to me. I had a novel idea. At cocktail parties, we serve a signature cocktail. Well how about a signature tea at a tea party. The signature tea served to the Moms was Kamiya Papaya Oolong loose tea from Teavana. The aroma of this full-bodied tea is delightful, fragrant and fruity.

Do you recognize this tea cup and saucer? It's "Old Country Roses". My Mommy adored this pattern. As a little girl, I remember her gazing at Old Country Roses in catalogs, saying I am going to buy this set one day. She never did. No matter how we resist being like our Mom's, we grow up and act just like them. You see, I really like this pattern too, so I bought a service for eight.

Here is a pic of the table setting.

My centerpiece is a crytal candle holder. Its center is the stage for roses from my local grocery store. The center could also hold floating candles, too.

At Marshalls, I spied milk chocolates wrapped in paper that looks similar to Old Country Roses. These favors set proudly in the crystal pineapple coasters until the highballs of strawberry lemonade punch joined this setting along with our tea sandwiches (tarragon chicken salad on parmesan yeast rolls).

A couple of bird's eye views ...

A few days after the party, I discarded the roses from the vase on my tray table. Later, I passed the dining room table and noticed that a rose petal wanted to join the others in my table cloth.

I gave this cross to my Mommy for Mother's Day several years ago. I bought it from a craft show because its adornment reminds me of our beloved pattern. My Mommy is in heaven now, and the sentiments inscribed on both pieces of this cross are so endearing and true.

This Old Country Roses cross is a recent find on one of my Tablescaping Escapades.

This condiment jar with spoon was also another accoutrement from same crafter at the craft show. Scrumtumptious (a word my dad coined) Peach Amaretto Jam by Stonewall Kitchen resided there, but not for long.

You guessed it. This teapot, its saucer and butterfly spoon came from the same crafter. Isn't her detail marvelous?
