Thankful, Thankful

Thankful, thankful, Lord I adore thee! Wow, it has been over two years since my last post. So much has happened.... milestones, loss, and triumphs... life. Through it all, I am glad I prevailed, thanks to Almighty God.

Over three years ago on a Thursday, I conducted an Internet search for a celebrity chef’s tablescape, but what I found was Between Naps on the Porch. Just about every Thursday after that first chance encounter, I have visited Between Naps on the Porch for Tablescape Thursday. As time went on, I wanted to comment on all of the beautiful tablescapes on Tablescape Thursday and join the party.  I was really excited to learn that so many others enjoy tablescaping as much as I do.

After I had been laid off for several months, I decided to join blogland so that I could compliment creative tablescapes of other dish-a-holics and participate in blog parties. I had a ball sharing my Tablescaping Escapades and visiting other blogs. Although I have not posted in over two years, I have still been on many Tablescaping Escapades.

My previous employer was acquired by a competitor, hence my layoff. Actually, it was a stressful environment and I really wanted a year off to myself, spend more time as a Domestic Diva with Sweet Pea and Sugar Puddin’, and entertain family and friends, breathe, relax – not really. How could I help support my family? How would we survive? God knows the desires of our hearts.

Someone, an angel, contacted me about an opportunity. The more I learned about the organization, the more I liked it. The company mission seemed to align with my personal mission which is based upon The Prayer of Jabez, “O God and King, please expand my opportunities and my impact in such a way that I touch more lives for Your glory. Let me do more for You!”

There were a couple of hiccups during the interview process, but I just knew, this company had to be the one. Exactly one year to the date I was laid off, I received a job offer from my current employer. Hallelujah! God knows the desires of our hearts, and He fulfilled my desire and answered my subconscious prayer – a year off work.  Now, back to work I go, happily and thankfully.

When I told my father-in-love this story, he said you should write a journal about it. I will, I told him.

Before I sit down to my computer as I commence my work day, I repeat my mission to myself and thank God because I feel that my service to my employer really has a positive impact on many lives, to God be the Glory.

I plan on sharing how thankful I am with Seasonal Sundays at The Tablescaper and Tablescape Thursday with Between Naps on the Porch.

All the Best,

Requi

Blue, White, and Silver

I am really excited to share with you some of my blue and white, plus some silver for interest; and I am tickled pink to link to Tablescape Thursday hosted by Susan at Between Naps on the Porch

I had to light the candles right away because it is raining cats and dogs, so the sun has faded.

I searched a long time to find just the right blue Iced Beverage stems.  I'll be serving 'the house wine of the South', iced tea of course.  I made Jasmine blossom iced tea.

Coaster

I was going to use blue and silver San Remo flatware (click HERE to see), then I thought about the curly q's in this flatware and decided to use it.

Do you think this flatware imitates the curvy design in the dinner plates?

Here are the layers.

I sat a silver urn on a square Scarborough dessert plate.

Tea for one on this counter top vignette

After dinner, I plan to relax with a cup of Double Bergamot Earl Grey tea.

Here's a place to rest my used teabag.

Thanks for stopping by to visit.  Do you like blue and white china and accessories as much as I do?  Leave me a comment and let me know.  Take time to enjoy some other beautiful tablescapes at the 96th Tablescape Thursday at Between Naps on the Porch.

The Star of the Yellow Bistro

The sun will be going down soon.  I'd like to slip out back on the deck and relax at my new yellow bistro set.

Let's dress the table.  Aren't those placemats darling?

The sun's fading.  Hey, who's that peeking from behind the tumbler?

There she is again.

Do you see her?

There * she * is.

Dishes:  Hey, hey over here.  Check out these yellow and green petals.  After all, this is about the dishes, even if we are plastic.

Time to light the candles.

She sure is a ham.  Spicy too, that color is brilliant.

Dishes:  Can't we get a portrait alone?!

A bird's eye view...

Do you see her from the corner of your eye, too?

Let's fly o'er top again.

She's hot!

Dishes:  Yuhoo, over here.  Remember me?

Dishes:  Hey, this was supposed to be my spotlight.

All aglow.

Circling around again.

Star:  Wow, finally alone time...

Pilot:  Wow, I thought they'd never leave.  I've been checking you out all night.

Star:  Kiss me goodnight.

Thanks to Susan at Between Naps on the Porch for giving me and so many other dish-a-holics the opportunity to share our tablescapes at her blog party, Tablescape Thursday.  Click HERE to see all the creative tablescapes participating this week in Tablescape Thursday.
